Hit the Beat 2014: Let’s move it – Performing Arts Project in Namibia – 11./12.7.2014

SAVE THE DATE: Fri, 11 July + Sat, 12 July 2014
19h00. Don’t miss the performances with Waldorf School Windhoek learners (grade 9-12) and Gonzo’n friends from Germany.
With choir, percussion, theatre and dance – at Warehouse Theatre in Windhoek, 47 Tal Street. Tickets can be bought at the WSW school office (Tel. 061-41 52 50) for N$ 60 or at the door N$ 80.

We are all really looking forward to our next “Hit the Beat Project 2014” from 23 June to 12 July 2014. Like last year Carmen Voigt, Luigi Scarano and Gonzo ’n Friends will be joining me. In addition we will have Tony Muirhead
(a drummer in Windhoek) joining us as well and of course Barbara Stauffer and Shapumba Shapumba from the teachers side and more teachers might join us.

The second week will be during the midtermbreak and is a voluntary week for learners that want to go into depth in the different art fields. When I asked in October who wanted to join during this week there were about 80 hands up – therefore we have organised Gonzo ’n Friends to be there already during this week to rehearse solos with various learners.

We will organise the holiday week on the school premises in a way that we will be working between 10h00 and 17h00 – obviously not everyone will have to be there all the time – it will depend on which field you want to be in (dancing/singing/drumming etc).

Gonzo ’n Friends will be performing at Warehouse during that week on 3 occasions and it will be possible for some of you to join them there as well. Of course Gonzo ’n Friends will also be performing as part of our performance on the 11th and 12th of July.

I am very happy that there will be some former learners that are joining us to either sing along or even teach us some of their music. We are all very much looking forward to these upcoming week!
